Nicholas Potnis

Term Ends January 2026

I’ve been a proud Florida resident since 2017. I remember driving by this beautiful community, dreaming of one day calling it home. Now, living here feels like that dream has come to life.

One of the things I love most about this location is how it offers easy access to the health-focused activities that bring me joy. Morning runs along the causeway are just steps away, with the ocean breeze and soft glow of sunrise setting the pace. Yoga on the beach becomes a peaceful ritual, where the rhythm of the waves invites calm and clarity. Sunset views from the sand or the top of the causeway offer a daily reminder to slow down and appreciate life’s simple beauty. Boating adventures and visits to local restaurants add to the vibrant, active lifestyle that this community makes so effortless.

With nearly two decades in nursing and my role as a professor at the University of South Florida, health and well-being are at the heart of both my personal and professional life. This community has become more than just a home—it’s a place where I can live out my passion for wellness and look forward to building meaningful connections with neighbors who share in this coastal way of life.

Jewels Chandler

Secretary

Term ends January 2026

My husband Dennis Toth and I were blessed to move to the Bluffs (3106 Bluffs Dr) the day before Hurricane Helene from Belleair Beach. Before that, we lived in Clearwater Beach and were originally from Massachusetts. I have one daughter who blessed me with a grandson and granddaughter, residing in Brooksville, and a son who lives in Seattle.

Living on this side of the beaches is wonderful in a non-evacuation zone. We love the safe, friendly neighborhood and are very happy living here.

While living in Clearwater Beach, I was President of our 349-unit condo association for one year and chairperson of the Social Committee for nine years. While living in Belleair Beach, I was on the Planning and Zoning Committee and then sat on the City Council. I was a secretary for the Greater Belleair Young Women's Society for over three years and several other committees while a member. I am currently the President of the Belleair Beach Ladies Luncheon Club, responsible for programs, venues, and the like.

We have a rescue 9-year-old Shepard Hound Mix dog named Fenway. (A nod to my roots) I recently joined the SW branch of the Parks and Rec Department in Largo, in trying to become more active. I used to teach line dancing and a "Butts and Guts" class at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center, and for two years, I enjoyed ballroom dancing competitions. I am a writer/content contributor, as well as doing some marketing for Stroll Harbor Bluffs and BeLocal magazines. I truly enjoy seeing neighborhoods come together. We attend Missouri Avenue Baptist Church in Clearwater, where I am also on the Missions Committee. I attend our Bible Study there every Thursday morning.

After a recommendation from a board member, I agreed to help serve you all to the best of my ability. I am on the Sunshine/welcoming committee, along with Nick Potnis, welcoming new arrivals to our beautiful neighborhood. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

Zach Strong

My family and I have called The Bluffs home since November 2022, and we couldn’t have chosen a better neighborhood. Living here with my wife and two daughters has only reinforced what a special community this is. As a local realtor with Coastal Properties Group/Forbes Global Properties and over 18 years of experience, I’ve seen many great neighborhoods—but The Bluffs stands out as the best, which is why we made it our home.

I’m passionate about giving back and staying involved, whether serving on local municipal boards, participating in the Rotary Club, or coaching my daughter’s soccer teams. I believe in fostering teamwork and leadership, both in my work and in the community, and I’m always happy to connect with neighbors!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the association and represent the Property Owners Association

  • Ensure By-Laws and Deed Restrictions are enforced

  • Attend Board meetings, vote and approve on home improvements and POA business

Betty Jean Griffith

Director

Term Ends: January 2026

My husband and I are relatively new to "The Bluffs", moving into our home in January 2024, but we are not new to the area. I moved from Pittsburgh to Florida in the early 1980's and later met and married my husband, Doug (Griff). We bought our first house in Largo, started a family, and lived here for 20 years. An opportunity with my employer presented itself to return to my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, which I accepted and remained for 20 years until I retired last year. After 20 years of enduring those harsh winters, my husband and I decided we'd like to return to Florida. I had always admired the beautiful and well-maintained homes in The Bluffs when we lived here and never imagined that the perfect house would go up for sale when we decided to make the big move. I believe in community and believe it is important to get involved when and where I can, be a good neighbor, and support this wonderful neighborhood.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the association and represent the Property Owners Association

  • Ensure By-Laws and Deed Restrictions are enforced

  • Attend Board meetings, vote and approve on home improvements and POA business
